GLOBAL CITIZENS PROJECT

GLOBAL CITIZENS PROJECT

Forming a close-knit community with shared vision and values is a corner-stone in achieving long-term success for our volunteer projects. As a result, Volunteer for Education Organization (V.E.O.) is now launching the “Global Citizens Project” with an aim to connect volunteers from different cultures to work toward the same goals. Based on this core volunteer community, we will develop culture exchange programs for the orphanages, children from remote areas and other underprivileged groups to help them understand the global context, embrace many different cultures and confidently participate in the international workplace. Through a myriad of activities such as musical performances, sporting events and other workshops, international volunteers will help remove the culture barrier, eliminate discrimination against these minority groups and sparkle their hope and dream toward a life with equal opportunities for disadvantaged people.

Voluntary activities

  •  Directly get involved in culture exchange programs and share about the cultural heritage and customs of your home countries
  • Work with local volunteers to construct the training and culture exchange programs that attract local youth and help them deepen their knowledge of various social and cultural aspects
  • Participate actively in volunteer workcamps that assist the orphanages and underprivileged people in their way to integrate into the international context and confidently contribute to the society.
  • Contribute substantially to the success of fundraising events such as music shows, sporting events to raise fund for further volunteer campaigns from Global Citizens

  • Construct and organize talk shows with local classrooms or other community groups on regular basis according to the goals and missions of the project.

Leisure activities

Volunteering in the Global Citizens Project is a great opportunity to make friends with the local youth and work with people from different backgrounds. Beside the working hours, you’ll have plenty of time to hang out with Vietnamese volunteers, which, apparently, is the best guide to Vietnamese culture and customs. In addition, you can take your time to visit many tourist attractions and enjoy the Vietnamese cuisines during your stay.

Location

The project activities are implemented in different places.

The first destination will be Hanoi.  Hanoi is capital city of Vietnam where you can explore not only the folk culture but also the modern life. From the Old Quarter which is the unique classical feature of Hanoi to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology which embraces the different cultures from more than 54 ethnics in Vietnam, you’ll be amazed by the vast diversity that Hanoi has to offer. Taking the time join Vietnamese youth in exploring the Hanoi will be an unforgettable experience for you when you stay here.

The second destination will be Mai Chau. This is one of the special ethnic minorities in the North West of Vietnam where the wealth of Vietnamese folk culture is well preserved. The Thai community possesses their own beauty from the languages to costumes, and even to housing style. In this place you will have a chance to explore the organic farming methods, Thai’s folk culture through the songs and dances, the picturesque nature in Mai Chau Green Valley.

Besides these two project sites, V.E.O. has many other options to offer, such as Sapa, Da Nang, Hoi An, Ho Chi Minh. Based on the length of your stay and your preferences, we will arrange the suitable destinations to meet your goals and expectations when joining us.
